Lyz Rhyne Swabek

Liz Rhyne Swabek, M.Ed., Psy.D., earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Spalding University with dual emphasis areas of Child, Adolescent and Family Psychology and Health Psychology. Additionally, she earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Louisville's Counseling Psychology Program. Dr. Swabek has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various settings providing individual, group, and family therapy.

Dr. Swabek specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults who exhibit emotional, relationship, and behavioral problems and who have been impacted by trauma and difficult life transitions such as: 

•           abuse, neglect, intimate partner violence

•           bullying

•           medical procedures

•           school and work changes

•           death of a friend, family member, pet

Dr. Swabek primarily provides therapy using a psychodynamic and attachment framework while also incorporating various evidence-based treatment interventions. She offers a safe, non-judgmental space while collaborating with clients to develop a shared understanding of therapy goals and tasks, thereby focusing on developing a strong therapeutic alliance.
